THE UNFINISHED WRITINGS OF E J KONTNY
CHURCH. What a life-giving-dysfunctional place. An imperfect body for the perfect plan God set into motion generations ago. Described as a prostitute, yet met with unconditional love. He has not given up on us. He is still pursuing us. God our father, friend and LOVER will not let up until EVERYONE has heard of the Savior, his son. The one the church was waiting on for thousands of years desperately seeking relief from the oppression of government. But instead, He came to offer us ETERNAL salvation, and left with the promise of complete restoration.
And now we sit, as the church, in-between a resurrected savior and restored earth. We celebrate our reconciliation with God by answering his GREAT COMMISSION. To reach the hurting, the lost, the weeping. God asked us to be the hands that offer generosity and to be the feet that cross borders. He sees our inadequacy and graces us still. Stop looking for each others short comings and discount their contributions.
Rise and shine Church for the kingdom of God is here. God is looking for a UNIFIED body, a set aside HOLY people. Do not be caught-up in doing the busy work of today and forget to PREPARE a way for the returning King. Don't miss out on the celebration banquet with your earthly excuses. God is looking to fill heaven and he will seek-out the castaways, the discounted, the overlooked. The day will come when he will ask for an answer to the question asked centuries ago, "what did you do with what you were given?" And that is when we will offer up the life we lived; the good, bad and forgotten.
Rise up, Church, you were the answer God was talking about. He joined you to the Spirit of God so that you could become like vines connected to the one rooted in the soil of heaven. Our test then is to stay connected to his promises that are as old as dirt. To trust in the plans he has set before you. To keep your eyes fixed on the one who sent you, not the waves that surround you. You are the answer to the prayer he is sending to the widow. The father he is sending to the orphan. The caretaker given to the homeless and the hungry.
"'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty and give you food and something to drink? When did we see you sick and tenderly care for you, or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Don't you know? When you cared for one of the least important of these my little ones, my true brothers and sisters, you demonstrated love for me.'"
Jesus gave us an example of how to spend our days on Earth. To care for others and love them just like God loves them. Don't waste your time on things that only pertain to your wealth and your house. Instead, start investing in heavenly rewards. Give to those who cannot repay you. Take care of the ones that despise you and extend love to the unlovable.
